hello to the world of blogging!

so... after 3 months of being on our new adventure together, i finally decided to get a blog going.  i have to admit i don't exactly love writing, so don't be surprised if i keep it on the side of short and sweet (with lots of pictures)!  we have been having the time of our lives these last 3 months, and have done so much that it would be hard to go back and blog about it all.  i'll try to go back and record anything worth noting, but otherwise i'll just pick up from where we are now!

sadly, our first visitors just left us yesterday.  ry's parents came out and stayed for almost a week, and their visit was so fun it was part of what inspired me to start the blog!  i won't bore everyone with all the details of our awesome week, but highlight what i consider the most exciting parts!  on our first full day together, we walked down to patty's- a cool breakfast spot not too far from our apartment.  after getting some much needed nourishment, we headed over to warner brothers for a studio tour.  this is something ry and i had been dying to do, so we were so thankful to finally have a reason to do it!

after our fun filled tour, we continued walking and had to re-fuel at gindhi thai, the red curry was awesome!!  after some relaxing after our long walking filled day, we went to an improv show at groundlings.  it. was. hilarious.

the next day we decided it would be fun to try out the metro.  being underground transportation, you can get anywhere much quicker than driving in the lovely LA traffic.  we got off at union station, then walked to chinatown.  definitely something you have to see, a really fun experience!

we got back on the metro but didn't come all the way home.  we got off at hollywood and highland, a very busy and upbeat part of hollywood!  of course we were in need of an adult beverage after all of our travels, so we went to musso & frank grill which is the oldest bar in hollywood!

friday night we had another big first!  we all went to the taping of a new pilot called "tax man."  it was a really cool process to see, we all just wished we had eaten before since we got there at 4:00 and left at 11:00. afterward we were all so famished so we had to treat ourselves to a late night breakfast at bob's big boy.  if the show gets picked up, it'll be our laughter you hear on the laugh track (with a few others). saturday night we had an awesome italian dinner at michaelangelo's in silver lake.  we were so excited when we found that this gem of a restaurant make gnocchi in house, yum!!  for our last day together we drove down to the orange county swap meet.  definitely worth the drive down south.  we finished off our visit with a yummy homemade dinner and a great time playing cards!

we had so much fun sharing our new home with michael and johnese.  we can't wait for our next visitors!!
