since i've had quite a lapse in time between posts, i have a lot to post about!
one day a few weeks back we decided to spend the afternoon at griffith park. we packed up a blanket, books, a soccer ball, and some wine and snacks. it was so great to just relax, enjoy the weather, and each other!
all this world cup watching has made me think i know how to play soccer. ry is such a good sport and humors me ;).
it was nice to catch up on my book, the boleyn inheritance. if anyone is looking for a fun series, phillipa gregory's historical fiction books are awesome!
on to another first... our first trip back to albuquerque since we've moved. it was sooo nice to see all of our family and friends. thank you so much to everyone who went out of their way to make us feel loved during our trip!
it was so great to have so many people we loved in one place! thanks to michael and johnese for hosting, you two really are the hosts with the mosts!! fortunately for us, our good byes weren't too sad because we knew we would be returning in only 3 short weeks! turri productions is going to be doing a movie in angel fire at the end of july, so we'll be back in no time! check out a cool article about the movie here.
and for the last first of the post... wait for it... our first fourth of july in l.a.! we did a little research on line and decided to head to marina del ray. we went prepared with our beach cruisers, our backpack that doubles as an ice chest, and our new beach tent! we knew we would be there for a while, so we pulled out all the stops!
this beach tent was totally worth $25! it's great for shade, and as we figured out, a great shield from the cool night wind! we ended up packing up the tent before the fireworks started. we weren't sure packing it up in the dark would be the best idea. though we left the beach early, we saw an awesome firework show on our bike ride back!
we're so lucky to get to explore all that california has to offer, and to get to do it together is just the best!
