a BIG week.

last week was a special and fun filled week for lots of reasons...

1. we got to enjoy lots of quality time with some of our favorite visitors.

this picture will always make me giggle because of michael's 'weekend at bernie's' moment. and the fact that is looks like chris and johnese are a couple, and michael and jan are a couple. and that everyone is drinking wine out of plastic cups. what a perfect way to celebrate johnese!

and a birthday isn't a birthday without a cake! and a homemade strawberry shortcake made it even sweeter ;o).

2. bigfoot had his big hollywood debut!

ry took one for the team and sweated it out in the bigfoot suit. he really turned some heads on hollywood boulevard, and had lots of the characters wondering who 'the new guy' was.

the bigfoot election got to play at the arclight hollywood, which was such an amazing venue and experience!  now we wait to see who wants to buy up this film filled with ry's blood, sweat, and tears ;o).

3. and the icing on the cake... the hollywood awards gala.

we pulled up to the beverly hilton hotel and were pretty much in a state of constant amazement for the next few hours. the first things we noticed as we got out of the car was a line of people standing behind a roped off red carpet just waiting to scope someone famous... then we walked through those ropes and onto the red carpet?! we quickly realized that this awards show was kind of a bigger deal than we even thought.

the view from our table.  we were sitting no more than 75 feet from people like george clooney, owen wilson, anne hathaway, and joseph gordon levitt- just to name a few.  oh, and for any grey's lovers- dr. burke was sitting at the table directly in front of us.  another fun fact- this is where the golden globes are held :o).

the after-party.  can i just say that i've never been gone to more events in my life that had free booze than i have in the last 5 1/2 months?!  i do miss a glass of wine every once in a while, but i was happy they had a constantly replenished dessert bar all night!

i was so happy i got to share in this special night with ry.  a little tribute to his much earned success!!

4. thanks to jan, we got to go to a cirque du soleil show at the kodak theater!  i think it's telling that we got to go to the venues for both the golden globes and the academy awards in the same week.  i have a feeling we'll be visiting both again sometime in the near future, but for a different reason next time ;o).
