two months with max!

time is flying by at a rapid rate, our baby maximilian is two months old!

we had his two month doctor appointment, and he is already 24 inches (that's two feet-aahhh) and weighs 11 pounds and 14 ounces. he's in the 90th percentile for height (WOW) and the 50th for weight. what a perfect little baby!!

his two month appointment also meant shots... the most heartbreaking thing for ry and i. max cried for a minute and then was fine, it took us a bit longer to recover :o(.

we decided monthly pics would be easier with max's bunny. it's a lot more kid friendly, and it'll be fun to watch him grow with it :o). and really... is he not the cutest two month old you've ever seen??

over the last month max has been smiling even more than ever! we're convinced he's been able to social smile since he was teeny, but now we know for sure ;o). as you can imagine, we take just a few pics with our phones, so here's just a taste of some of his smiles over the last month.

max has learned so many new things over the last month! here are some two month max facts-

-he can now successfully get his hand into his mouth without punching himself in the face :o).

-he gets ahold of things and doesn't want to let go. he likes to grab the side of the tub when he's in the bath. he also enjoyed giving ry a scare as he was trying to get him out of the swing and max clamped on to it. another one of his favorites to get a hold of- my hair!

-he has sooo many more sounds now- LOTS of cooing! he also has a high pitched squeal that we love, a pterodactyl sound, and his fair share of grunts. he also does one that sounds like the beginnings of a giggle ;o).

-he can 'talk' to us. when we talk to him he responds with little coos :o).

-he really responds to us and our facial expressions. when we smile, he smiles back!!

-when we're holding him on our lap, he can hold onto our hands and pull himself up!

-he now has a love-love relationship with the binky. it's a great self soother for him.

-he really loves to cycle through all of his clothes... he still spits up a LOT.

-now that i'm back at work, ry gives him a bottle in the afternoon. i was shocked when i started pumping and was getting between 4 and 6 ounces at a time! max will usually eat that whole bottle in one feeding! i guess all that milk is helping him get really tall ;o).

-he's officially out of all of his newborn clothes, he's now in 0-3 months. now that we know how tall he is, it kind of explains why a few of his 0-3 onesies look like jazzercise outfits ;o).

-he very rarely cries- only when he's really hungry or overtired. even then, it never takes long to calm him down. we are so blessed with our sugar baby!!

it seems like there were a lot of big changes from month one to two, so we can't wait to see what month three brings!!

every day we think we can't love him any more- and then we do :o).
