max- king of the wild things!!

since the day we found out our sweet baby was a boy, there was really no doubt in our minds what max would be for his very first halloween. where the wild things are was one of ry's favorite books (as a child, and as an adult ;o)) and is where he first came to love the name max. when we looked up the meaning of maximilian and found that it meant 'greatest one' the deal was sealed. fitting for him don't 'cha think?!

in typical r & r fashion, we put off most of the heavy lifting until the last minute. we got home from vegas late tuesday night, so we worked on max's costume ALL day wednesday.

we finished it at about 5:15, and were out the door for our pumpkin carving contest that started at 5:30 :o/.

we were all relieved that it was finally done! maybe next time ry will have us buy a pattern... probably not ;o).

we think the heat of the costume subdued him into silence, he had this serious face on for most of the night. you can't tell, but he was really excited to get some close up time with baby sorenson, coming 2013!!

our favorite train conductor managed to get lots of smiles out of our little one. love these two together!
